It is intended that through the Static Pamphlet articles and reviews a vibrant culture of criticism can be established. Static is keen to receive short or longer reviews (max 2000 words) covering all arenas of cultural activity, and pertaining to any geographical location. The Static Pamphlet Editors are happy to discuss proposals for articles prior to submission. Static reserves the right to refuse to publish if material is without significant merit or interest. The articles present the opinions of the writers, these are not necessarily the opinions of the Static Pamphlet Editors.

'All Concept and No Form', Mark Ramsden and Becky Shaw' 25/11/03 [view]:

A review of Josie Appleton's comments on conceptual and contemporary art. By examining the conceptual movement in terms of its historical development, the article attempts to clear up Appleton's confusions. It shows how conceptualism has been enormously influential on how we think about art, its purpose, and on contemporary art practice. However despite its influence, so many contemporary artists reject conceptualism's placing of the 'idea' as paramount.

'Further on I listen back…', Kelly large' 25/11/03 [view]:

A review of ‘The Whisper Heard’ by Imogen Stidworthy Matt’s Gallery, London.
